Think "Different"!
Challenge conventional sample processing.
Cr2O72- + 6 Fe2+ + 14 H+ → 2Cr3+ + 6 Fe3+ + 7 H2O
MnO4- + 5 Fe2+ + 8 H+ → Mn2+ + 5 Fe3+ + 4 H20
IMP Automation in conjunction with Nucomat has released an automated system for the determination of iron in ore samples. This revolutionary automated system executes sample weighing, acid dispensing, dissolution and titration automatically. The system reports directly to the LIMS for final results calculation. Furthermore, the system cleans all flasks automatically, ready for re-use. The system has been designed as a stand-alone unit (i.e. sample pulps are manually loaded into the in-feed conveyor) or it can be connected to an automated sample preparation and milling system where powdered samples will be automatically fed to the system for operation in either an unmanned container laboratory or fixed site laboratory.
The automation of this process as well as other wet chemistry methods is sure to provide benefits to precision and accuracy, improved efficiencies and security level to employees and drastically reduce health risks to personnel.
