Single Roller Crusher


 
Single-roller crushers are used to reduce brittle and soft to medium-hard materials with a reduction ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:15.
 
Comminution occurs between a rotating roller and a flexibly supported crushing wall mainly through compressive and shear stress. The fed material is drawn in through the rotating roller until it can pass through the gap between the roller and the crusher wall. The stepped arrangement of the crushing jaws minimises material roll off so that coarser material can be drawn in when compared to a similar double-roller crusher.
 
The feeding behaviour is additionally improved by the addition of toothed crushing strips, especially with moist feed materials. The throughput of the single-roller crusher is determined decisively by the final grain size required. The single-roller crusher has a crushing roller provided with crushing strips, and these crushing strips can be lined to improve the feeding behaviour. The crushing wall with the mounted crushing jaws is supported by springs, so that the crusher is protected against overloading and minor foreign bodies. It can also be adjusted via threaded spindles to set the end product fineness.
 
To exchange the crushing strips, the housing of the single-roller crusher can be removed quickly and easily. The crushing rollers are directly driven by a geared motor affixed to the shaft, thus doing away with the maintenance of a belt or chain drive. The single-roller crusher is also available in a laboratory version (L), with the machine being equipped with a tamper-proof feeding funnel, an integrated collection box, and a mounted control system. In this version, the feeding funnel can be swung away, so that the crushing chamber can be subjected to rapid inspection or cleaning in order to prevent any cross-contamination amongst samples.
